Distillation
FAQ
Does distillation dispose of beneficial minerals in water?
Distillation will kill and remove practically everything in the water,
including the minerals. However, are these minerals beneficial
or useless?
Dr. Allen E. Banik with Carlson Wade
answers that question in his book "Your Water, Your Health,"
one of the greatest water guides out there today. Quote:
"It is believed that mineral waters
help furnish elements for body metabolism. But there
is scientific proof to suggest that many of these minerals are
in an inorganic (dead) form.
While they may enter the circulation, they cannot be used
in the physiological process of building the human cell.
These inorganic minerals only interfere with the delicate
and complex biology of the body. They may also overwork
the kidneys.
For example, it would be biologically impossible to
nourish the body with iron by taking "iron
filings" or any other form of inorganic iron. The
best way to nourish the body with iron is through fresh and, preferably,
raw fruits and vegetables."
His statement clearly identifies the minerals
found in water as being unusable and even harmful to our body. In addition,
even if these minerals would have any positive use for our cells, it
would take more then 600 glasses of water to fulfill our daily
recommended dosage of minerals! That's why we should get
our minerals from the food we eat and not the water we drink. The
purpose of water is to clean our system, not to feed it, which
brings us to the next question:
Does distilled Water leach minerals from our body?
As we stated previously, water’s main
job is to clean and regulate our system. To do that, water has a
very important role in the elimination cycle of our body, which will remove
certain minerals. The question is, are these minerals being used in our
body?
Dr Harvey & Marilyn
Diamonds elaborate on
this delicate subject in their book, "Fit for Life II:
Living Health." Quote:
"Distilled water has an inherent quality. Acting almost
like a magnet, it picks up rejected, discarded, and unusable
minerals and, assisted by the blood and the lymph, carries
them to the lungs and kidneys for elimination from the body. The
statement that distilled water leaches minerals from the body has
no basis in fact. It doesn't leach out minerals
that have become part of the cell structure. It can't
and won't. It collects only minerals that have already
been rejected or excreted by the cells... To suggest that
distilled water takes up minerals from foods so that the body derives
no benefit from them is absurd. Therefore preventing scale
build-up in the body witch is what leads to kidney stones, blocked
arteries and other long-term effects."
